Meet Jesus. Be Jesus. Share Jesus.
Our Vision:
“St. Rose of Lima seeks to be a vibrant faith community that is committed to helping people encounter Christ in the power of the Holy Spirit. We invite them to experience the living Church in Word, Sacrament, and community. We seek to form dynamic disciples of Christ and send them as missionaries to transform the world around them. Our members commit themselves to connect with other disciples, to worship, to grow in holiness, to serve, and to give.”
Pastor's Welcome Message
Greetings and welcome from the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Community. Whether you are new to the area or have lived here for many years, we are glad to count you as a member of our Roman Catholic family.
St. Rose of Lima is an extremely active parish. It offers many ministries in which our parishioners are afforded the opportunity to participate in numerous spiritual and social activities. We invite you to participate in at least one of our youth or adult programs; a list of these ministries can be found here on the website, and you can contact the rectory staff if you have any questions.
While all our ministries are important, our first and most important ministry is that of worship and prayer from which all else flows. Through Word and Sacrament we worship and praise God the Father through His only begotten Son by the power of the Holy Spirit. St. Rose offers numerous opportunities for prayer and worship, including mass services and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament. We invite you to be a part of our worship life, and we hope you will join us.
Again, welcome to the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Community. We are sure you will find St. Rose a warm and welcoming place, and we look forward to seeing you in church and around the parish community.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Joseph Shea
Pastor
Parish History
St. Rose of Lima was first designated a Roman Catholic parish in 1921 to serve the area of Simi, Santa Susana, and Moorpark. In 1996 -- in honor of the 75th Anniversary of St. Rose of Lima parish -- the church compiled a complete parish history. That account can be found here:
