We priests wanted to reach out to you to see how you and your family are doing in the midst of this crisis. We have been praying for the health and safety of you and your families during this health scare because you are important members of our parish family.
Upon the strong advice of our Governor Gavin Newsom, health experts and Archbishop Jose Gomez, we have closed our rectory office and the Church to all public services (except a receptionist will take calls from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday—Friday) to avoid any contamination of both buildings. Health experts say that the coronavirus can survive on surfaces up to 17 days.
In response to their directives, until further notice:
· First, if there is any emergency—someone is critically ill and dying either in the hospital or at your home—please call the rectory number 805-526-1732. (follow the directives on the phone message - press 7), and one of us priests will come immediately to administer the Sacraments.
· We will not have any Confessions during this time, except in case of extreme emergency (see above).
· All funerals will only be graveside services. Once the crisis is over, we will schedule Memorial Masses for your love ones who have died.
· All weddings are postponed.
· All Quincereras will be postponed.
Since we are unable to have any public liturgical, catechetical or social celebration or event, we are reaching out to you through our bulletin on line on our parish website and other social media. So, at the present time, we will:
· Live stream our daily Mass at 5:30 p.m. each day.
· Live stream a rosary and the Divine Chaplet
· Live stream Stations of the Cross on Friday in English at 6:00 p.m. and in Spanish at 7:00 p.m.
· Live stream our Sunday Mass at 10:00 a.m. in English and 12:00 noon in Spanish.
Please bear in mind that all this information is as fluid as the virus. We will update you as more information becomes available. May God bless you, our Church, our nation and our world.
Yours in Christ,
Fr. Joseph Shea
